Freedom Days a time for fun, reflection

One of the benefits of living in Apple Valley is that residents don’ t have to travel far for some Fourth of July fun and reflection.
Though Apple Valley Freedom Days has entertaining events for all ages, there’ s also time to think about Independence Day and the founding of this nation.
While the parade and fireworks are shows that generate smiles, they can also be a moment to recall the reason for the founding of the United States and the ways in which the country has continued to be free.

take the Freedom Days idea to heart,” said Pat Schesso, the event volunteer committee’ s chairperson.“ It’ s encouraging to see everyone get into the spirit wearing their red, white and blue and supporting all of the events.”
The events don’ t happen without the work of volunteers.
Schesso, the longtime leader of the festival, said volunteers on needed for events on July 3 and 4.
Help is needed for the Cub Foods Family Fun Night, the Parade and Pre- Fireworks Party. Shifts are flexible and a great way to fulfill volunteer hours required by schools and other organizations. See Freedom, 5
