Every year, our volunteers generously share their time, talents and compassion with patients, families and visitors across our health system.
In 2025, 349 volunteers— from students and retirees to working professionals and multi-generational community members— contributed 10,772 hours of service across a variety of specialized programs.
Pet Therapy
Since 1997, we have recognized the healing power of animals in healthcare. Volunteer handlers and their registered therapy dogs help ease anxiety, support pain management, encourage communication and promote physical activity and bring comfort to patients during their care journey. In 2025, 65,400 lives were touched by therapy dog visits over 2,180 hours.
Hospice
Our hospice volunteers provide compassionate support to patients nearing the end of life and to their loved ones. Through emotional, spiritual and practical care, they play an important role within Renown’ s Hospice and Palliative Care team.
Music & Art Therapy
Founded in 1993, our Healing Arts Program uses art and music to support the well-being of patients, families and employees. Volunteers brought 2,719 healing interactions through bedside art and music, Sophie’ s Place at Renown Children’ s Hospital, lobby performances, community partnerships and original artwork displayed throughout the health system.
