2025 Coach Impact Quincy Leonard

Quincy Leonard’ s journey in golf began with family. Growing up in Alabama, his uncle Jimmy would visit from South Carolina and always bring his golf clubs. During those visits, Quincy was introduced to the game that would later shape his life.
As he developed his passion for golf, Quincy found inspiration in pioneers like Charlie Sifford as well as mentors within his own community. One of the most influential figures in his journey was Montgomery golf professional, Fred Dean. Dean was known not only for his talent as a player but also for the way he encouraged and inspired others in the community. Moments like hearing Mr. Dean compliment his swing helped build Quincy’ s confidence and strengthened his connection to the game.
Today, Quincy is committed to creating those same opportunities for the next generation of golfers. Through the Montgomery Local Tour, he focuses on building a welcoming and family-friendly environment where young players can grow both on and off the course.
The experience is designed to support players at every level, from children playing in their first tournament to those competing at a higher level. Quincy emphasizes strong competition while also making sure families feel supported and included in the experience.
One tradition in every tournament is asking the winner to give a short victory speech. While it may seem like a small moment, it becomes an important step in helping young players develop confidence and learn to speak comfortably in front of others.
For Quincy, success is not measured by scores or trophies. Instead, it is reflected in the families who return year after year, and in the messages he receives from parents and grandparents who see their children growing through the game.
Through his leadership and dedication, Quincy Leonard continues to help create meaningful experiences for young golfers while strengthening the sense of community that surrounds the game.

“ Success is not measured only by scores or trophies but by the families who return year after year.”
