Welcome to Thornton Academy Middle School !
The middle school years are critical to the growth and development of students as they become independent thinkers , hone their social skills , and begin to identify their strengths and interests .
At TAMS , students are encouraged to create , dream , and be inspired in a safe and supportive environment where learning comes to life , in the classroom , on the stage , and on the playing field .
Students at Thornton Academy Middle School benefit from our small , close-knit school , and TAMS is proud to be a leader in offering innovative programs that cater to the diverse interests and strengths of our middle school students . Our dedicated teachers know our students well , and work tirelessly to foster an atmosphere where all types of learners can thrive . Students receive a personalized approach that recognizes and supports their individual needs and accomplishments .
Sharing a campus with the Upper School at Thornton Academy offers students the opportunity to engage in advanced courses at the high school level , while also receiving additional support from our skilled , certified teachers . We meet each student where they are , with enthusiasm and care , helping them reach their fullest potential .
Middle school is a time of growth and self-discovery , and TAMS students are encouraged to explore their passions beyond the classroom . Our club offerings range from Art and Yearbook , to Student Council and our award-winning Robotics Team . TAMS sports teams compete throughout the year , including fall soccer , winter track , and softball in the spring .
We believe in challenging our students to take safe risks , try new things , and embrace the exciting possibilities that come with this stage of their academic and life journey . Middle school is all about figuring out what inspires you , and at TAMS , you truly can do it all .
