BONUS ITINERARY- GOT KIDDOS?
If you’ ve got children in the back seat and you’ re looking for things for them to do, here are some activities you can pepper into our itineraries to keep boredom at bay!
SPLISH SPLASH IN THE SHIRES Totally fun( on a hot summer day) is the Splashpad at Merchants Park in Bennington! The Park, right near the center of town, is open from dawn to dusk. Sensors initiate the water jets and are operational from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm daily from Memorial Day weekend through the summer. Also make sure to check out the Thursday Night Live concerts at Merchants Park throughout the summer, with live bands starting at 5:30 pm.
FOR THE SWEET TOOTH Be a hero to your children: take them to the Chocolatorium in East Arlington. Or the Sugar Shack just north of Arlington.
TUBING DOWN THE BATTEN KILL Although you’ ll float right out of The Shires( and into New York state) during this adventure, nothing is more fun than tubing down the Batten Kill!
