Clinical Seminar |
Designed to assist the nurse educator student to enhance her or his |
knowledge base in a selected area of nursing practice. In seminar, students |

analyze epidemiologic, technological, socioeconomic, cultural and ethical |
||
influences on client care. The practicum component includes precepted |
||
learning experiences in a student selected clinical environment. Selected |
||
settings include but are not limited to hospitals, long-term care facilities, |
||
assisted living facilities, rehabilitation facilities, nurse managed health |
||
centers, specialty clinics and office practices. Emphasis is placed on |
||
identifying and responding to health related concerns through the use of |
||
evidence based practice. |

Nursing Education Seminar I |
This course introduces students to foundational concepts in nursing |
education. Topics include curriculum development, program outcomes, |
||
evaluation of learning, and program improvement strategies. Accreditation |
||
and regulatory considerations, as well as ethical and legal aspects of nursing |
||
education, will be discussed. |

Nursing Education Seminar II |
Building on Nursing Education Seminar I, this course explores theories of |
learning, teaching strategies, and methods of measurement and evaluation |
||
in nursing education. Students will examine ethical, social, cultural, and |
||
legislative issues related to assessment and evaluation. Prerequisite: NUR |
