This course will examine ways health care delivery systems, public health agencies, community-based organizations, and other engaged stakeholders work in collaboration to develop interventions to improve the health outcomes of both individuals and populations in the local, national, and global arena. An upstream thinking approach will be utilized focusing on the social determinants of health, fundamental issues of health equity, and social justice across the lifespan. Continued attention to epidemiologic principles will enhance the knowledge needed to understand the natural history and burden of diseases, the evaluation of preventive interventions, and the globalization of health. The expanded role of the Clinical Nurse Leader in local, national, and global population health will continue to be explored. |

Designed for the advanced practice nurse, this course examines computer applications within nursing administration, research, clinical practice, education, and health care. Social, legal, and ethical aspects associated with computerization of health care information will be investigated. |
