Sport Facility & Venue Management
This course will examine the principles and practices of sport facility and venue management. Emphasis will be placed on topics including facility supervision, planning, construction, operations, security, programming, scheduling, box office operations and concessions, maintenance, marketing, and financing. With new arenas, stadiums, fitness and recreation centers, convention centers and other facilities opening, there is a significant need for properly trained sport facility managers. The principles and applications of facility design, maintenance, and event management as they apply to indoor and outdoor sport facilities will be analyzed. Students will critique existing sport facilities and complete related assignments.

Sport Management Capstone
This capstone course will enable students to demonstrate skills developed through the sport management curriculum. Students will put their skills into practice through various experiential learning experiences to gain deeper understanding of working in the sport industry. The practical application of knowledge and skills acquired in this course will help students extend their expertise by working in a sport management related organization.
SPMT-445
Sport Management Internship
The internship requirement is considered to be one of the most critical components of the Sport Management program. Student will undertake a 120-240 hour supervised internship. This opportunity is expected to enhance the student ' s academic experiences, provide additional work experience, and networking opportunities. Internship experiences may take place in any of the varied sport industry settings.

Introduction to Social Work
This course will present an overview of the elements which define social
work. Social work history, values, and ethics will be discussed. Basic
counseling techniques and an overview of the various agencies of social work
will be covered providing a strong overview of generalist social work
practice. This course requires a short social service volunteer experience.
This course is open to all students interested in exploring social work as a
major or career.
