Time to Completion: The program is a full-time, 20 months, 72 credits prelicensure degree program. Students must be continuously enrolled.
Clinical: Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from off-campus experiential learning opportunities.
Non-Academic Criteria for Admission, Progression and Retention Compliance Requirements and Clearances: Required at the start of the program and annually.
NOTE: Urine drug screen must be completed as directed through Complio within 30 days of registration. Random drug screening may be required. A negative result is required.
Testing Requirements: Testing using ExamSoft Professional Liability / Health Insurance Coverage: Required at the start of clinical courses.

Program Description: The DEMSN is the foundation to prepare a student holding a previous non-nursing Bachelor’ s degree for entry-level practice as a registered nurse. The scope of practice includes direct and indirect care to individuals, families, and communities. Thisdegree differs from the Baccalaureate degree in thatthe program notonly prepares students to sit for state licensure but also adds additional graduate level content. The master’ s degree can lead to many career advancement opportunities or to pursue a post-master ' s certificate in many specialties. Once the student is accepted, no courses may be taken outsideof Gwynedd Mercy University.
