Academic Criteria for Admission, Progression and Retention
Program Admissions Requirements and Procedures: Qualified applicants are recommended to have completed high school or college chemistry and / or physics and are required to have satisfied the University’ s English and mathematics placement test requirement. All applicants complete an online application, https:// www. gmercyu. edu / undergraduate-application, submit official high school transcripts, and college transcripts if applicable, and submit a letter of recommendation demonstrating academic ability to be successful in a rigorous academic program and possession of strong moral character. Applicants must have achieved a grade point average( GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 quality scale for entry into the program and an official transcript from each college attended must be submitted.
Internal / External Transfers: Admissions requirements and procedures for internal transfers are as noted above. In addition, the student must submit letters of recommendation from the student’ s advisor and a former teacher reflecting their ability to be successful and must have a minimum GPA of a 2.5 or higher in the natural sciences. External transfers must satisfy the same requirements as noted above and will have transcripts evaluated by Gwynedd Mercy University’ s Registrar’ s Office to ensure they are comparable and meet accepted academic standards(“ C“ or better). Internal and external transfers will be accepted on a space available basis only.
Progression Requirements A minimum grade of“ C” must be maintained for all major concentrations, Exploring the Natural World, Mathematics & Technology( a“ C-“ is not acceptable). The minimum major GPA is 2.0 and minimum cumulative GPA is 2.5.
The specific courses and required sequence are shown on the Exercise Science curriculum sheet. Specific questions about course transfer and sequencing are referred to the Program Coordinator.
