Program Description: The Master of Science in Educational Administration is an accelerated, online, cohort-based program. This online program is designed for working professionals in the field of education. The program prepares students to assume leadership roles as: * K – 12 Principal * Supervisor of Curriculum & Instruction / Instructional Coordinator / Educational Supervisor / Curriculum Director( but not limited to these titles).
Preparation for Professional Licensure / Certification: This program is designed to meet Certification Requirements for Principal and Supervisor of Curriculum & Instruction in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Department of Education requires:
• A minimum of 5 years of academic instructional teaching experience
• Completion of an Approved Program of Educational Study with a focus on the Leadership Standards
• 3.0 program Grade Point Average
• A passing score on the State Certification Exam
• Possess a Level I or II Certification
• Passing Score on the Curriculum & Instruction Supervisor Certification Exam
• 540 hours of Practicum Experience in a School Setting
NOTE: This program was designed to meet the licensure / certification requirements of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Students who reside in a different state should carefully review your home state’ s licensure / certification requirements prior to enrolling in this program. Out-of-state students must consult the requirements for the state to which they are making application. Out-of-state students must complete 540 hours of Practicum experience even if the state to which one is making application requires fewer hours. It is the student’ s responsibility to ensure they have secured the appropriate number of Practicum hours and maintain recordkeeping of those hours for the state they are applying.
