Compliance Requirements and Clearances: Students are expected to comply with any health, safety or professional conduct requirements of their public health internship sites.
Professional Disposition and Conduct: Public health professionals are expected to interact respectfully with all stakeholders in oral and written communications and to be sensitive to cultural practices and norms of the communities with whom they work. Students within the Public Health program are expected to develop and practice these skills in their courses and internships. Any student who behaves in a manner deemed disrespectful to others by their instructor or internship preceptor will be referred to the Program Director to discuss the incident and develop strategies and a plan to remediate the situation.
Unprofessional behavior during the public health internship, including inappropriate attire, habitually arriving late or not completing the agreed to schedule or projects may result in being asked not to return to the practice site, which will result in an F in the course.

Program Description: The BS in Sport Management program prepares students to enter the fast-paced industry of sport while including a study of foundational business knowledge such as theory, accounting, management, international business, professional communication, and finance. Core courses cover topics in strategic sport marketing, operations financing, law, venue management, and revenue strategies. The program culminates with a course in which students apply newly developed skills in hands-on applications. This program offers a 4 + 1 MBA option. Students should meet with their advisor in their junior year to apply to the 4 + 1 program.

PLO7 Analyze challenges and opportunities of sport marketers and sport professionals.
Experiential Learning: Students are required to engage in an internship, which allows them to put theory into practice, observe professionals engaging their field of study, practice their skills under the supervision of seasoned professionals, network within their chosen field, and gain valuable experience. Students should consult with their academic advisor before they plan to register for the internship. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from off-campus experiential learning
