The Law Office of John L. Calcagni III, Inc. is a full-service, criminal defense firm handling cases in state, federal and military courts. Started in 2009 by John Calcagni, then a solo practitioner, the firm now consists of a team of experienced trial lawyers, paralegals, investigators and legal assistants who collaborate on each case to ensure optimal results for our clients.
John L. Calcagni III began his legal career as a prosecutor in the U. S. Army Judge Advocate General’ s Corps assigned to the 10th Mountain Division in Fort Drum, New York, from 2004-2008. During this time, he was also assigned as a Special Assistant U. S. Attorney in the Northern District of New York. His time as a federal prosecutor consisted of prosecuting felony offenses, mainly sex crimes and child abuse cases. In January 2008, he transitioned to the U. S. Army Reserves and returned home to Rhode Island to start his own law practice. With the guidance of great mentors along the way, John started a solo practice that has evolved into a well-known, boutique criminal defense firm.
