MJFF also prioritizes research tool innovation , provides researchers access to essential data and biospecimens , like blood and spinal fluid , and facilitates fieldwide collaborations . Our efforts to advance biomarkers , like last year ’ s aSyn-SAA , and better methods to assess patient-relevant outcomes are making clinical trials faster , cheaper and more informative .
All of this work is deepening our understanding of PD and moving the field closer to better treatments for all . For evidence of progress , look no further than the diverse current pipeline . With more than 150 treatments in clinical testing that MJFF is monitoring , approximately half aim to disrupt the biological factors driving PD and the other half aim to reduce PD ’ s motor and non-motor symptoms .
