Interested in a unique Israeli cultural experience for you and your family ?
Host our summer Shlichim !
Every summer , the Weinstein JCC partners with the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond ( JCFR ) and the Jewish Agency ’ s Summer Shlichim Program to bring shlichim ( emissaries from Israel ) to work as staff members at our camps . The summer Shlichim program is a cultural bridge that allows dynamic young Israelis to bring the “ spirit of Israel ” to Jewish youth during a summer camp experience .
The Shlichim go through a rigorous interview process along with a 4-day training seminar to prepare them for life in the United States . They are mature , English-speaking Israelis who have completed army or national service . They are experienced in various areas of education and work as counselors , teachers or childcare workers .
