Owners Ken & Barbara Greenleaf are community minded . They firmly believe in supporting and buying local- and the majority of the ingredients in their food and beer are bought from sustainable farms in the local community . The BDBC gives back to the community in many ways – including sponsoring community events , fundraisers and even charity runs . They enjoy living in Alaska and experiencing the outdoors and spending time with family .
When asked why they became a member of Alaska CHARR , Ken ’ s response was “ Because CHARR stands as the lone advocate for those of us in the alcohol industry . For those of us who own bars and breweries , advocacy is critical in ensuring our fiscal futures .”
