City attracts new entertainment , dining destinations

St . Louis Park continues to attract new businesses , drawing customers looking to grab lunch or enjoy a night out .
Haggard Barrel Brewing Co . is among the newcomers to SLP . Located at 6413 Cambridge St ., the brewery opened in a business park that also includes Warehouse Winery , Copperwing Distillery and Dampfwerk Distillery .
Haggard Barrel Brewing Co . only provides tastings and off-sale beer as the 238-square-foot premises has no capacity for seating . The brewery is open for limited hours on Fridays and Saturdays , with updates provided on the business ’ s Facebook page .
The distilleries near Haggard Barrel feature cocktail rooms while Warehouse Winery mainly functions as an event center .
Farther northwest in St . Louis Park , Ullsperger Brewing – named for owner Dan Ullsperger – marked its first anniversary in 2024 . Located in a strip mall at 2314 Louisiana Ave . S ., the business obtained an off-sale license this year , allowing patrons to purchase beer to bring home . The brewery is small , with indoor-only seating in its taproom for only 20 people . It features free arcade games . During the football season , it becomes a gathering spot for University of North Dakota and the Green Bay Packers fans .
For people who have more of an interest in eating , Punch Pizza opened a West End location at 5799 W . 16th St ., Suite 100 . The business cooks pizzas in a 900-degree wood-burning oven , according to its website . The Neapolitan pizzas come with crushed tomatoes , mozzarella and olive oil and are intended to be eaten with a knife and fork , unlike American-style pizza . Other restaurants have been in the works in 2024 . Boketto Restaurant will be a Japanese steakhouse at 1607 West End Boulevard , with a seating capacity of 250 inside a nearly 8,000-square-foot space .
According to a statement from Shea Design , which worked on plans for the restaurant , Boketto is a Japanese word with a meaning similar to daydreaming .
“ The restaurant , a Japanese-inspired steakhouse , is a new concept for the team and will feature a selection of dishes ranging from Japanese Wagyu steak to fried rice , dumplings and sushi ,” according to the announcement . “ The space will feel sophisticated and vibrant with a mood that transforms throughout the day as the restaurant transitions from power lunches to an elevated dining scene .”
Along Highway 7 , the vacant Galaxy Drive-In site is poised to become Wells Roadside . Craft & Crew , which operates The Block Food + Drink , plans to run the nearby site .
Craft & Crew representatives said they anticipate that many people will spend less than five minutes at Wells Roadside as they take food to go . Equipment would cook burger patties in less than a minute . The menu would be limited to between six and 10 items . The business plans to offer pre-mixed cocktails from taps . The drinks would have to be consumed on-site .
A louvered roof system would allow the patios to be open to the sky during fine weather or closed to increase shelter . A mostly transparent vinyl wall system would roll down to allow the patios to be heated in winter .
Near the West End , a new building that will be constructed is set to host Shake Shack , Sweetgreen , Chipotle and Snooze an A . M . Eatery restaurants . When complete , the fast-casual restaurants would be located at 5775 Wayzata Blvd . in St . Louis Park .
Other new attractions in the West End area include the Canvas Convergence immersive art experience at 1632 West End Blvd . and Make Culture , a consignment shop , gallery , events venue and “ creative cafe ” at 1658 West End Blvd .
