Nothing like a spectacular Parktacular weekend
The annual community Parktacular takes place each year for a period ending on Father ’ s Day .
Some of the annual favorites include Rock the Park Concert , the Grand Day Parade , Business Expo , Ecotacular , Kidtacular , the Splash Into Summer Pool Event and other attractions . One of the newer events includes Juneteenth , a holiday that celebrates Black culture and emancipation .
The parade typically features Shriners ’ boats and horses and a marching band as well as representatives from the Hopkins Raspberry Festival and other area celebrations .
Parktacular invites residents and visitors to “ Splash Into Summer .” For festival attendees who would like to literally make a splash , Parktacular provides a fishing clinic and a night at the St . Louis Park Aquatic Park .
The Ecotacular is a showcase of environmentally friendly activities and demonstrations .
Food vendors appear at Wolfe Park , along with community organization booths , parade floats and a host of other icons of seasonal celebrations .
In 2023 , organizers decided to remove the typical Friday night concert to focus on the free Saturday night show .
Events are planned for people of all ages . “ Kidtacular ” activities like face-painting and balloon animals welcome children .
Some of the newer additions include Tommy ’ s Fishing Clinic for Kids and a fitness challenge between St . Louis Park police and firefighters .
There was also a new sensory zone in consideration of individuals who may become overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the sights and sounds of the event . The St . Louis Park Parktacular Ambassador Coronation closes out the event . Parktacular organizes an ambassadors program annually . The ambassadors include children , young adults and senior ambassadors who represent St . Louis Park in many Minnesota communities .

Prior to Parktacular , St . Louis Park hosted festivals called Robin Hood Days and Party in the Park . Parktacular emerged from a city visioning process in the mid-1990s in which residents said they wanted a stronger community celebration . The name Parktacular is derived from a contest organizers conducted for the new festival , which began in 1997 in conjunction with the opening of the St . Louis Park Recreation Center , according to the St . Louis Park Historical Society .
Parktacular is one of several community activities that happen each year .
Performances for a summer concert series take place at Veterans ’ Memorial Amphitheater at Wolfe Park , 3700 Monterey Drive . Concerts are typically Wednesdays . A Kids Summer Concert Series is conducted Wednesday mornings at the amphitheater . Open mic nights at the amphitheater are also scheduled on many Thursday evenings in the summer .
