• Stillwater ’ s schedule is similar to a year ago with one exception . The Ponies are scheduled to race in the Roy Griak Invitational on Friday , Sept . 20 at Les Bolstad Golf Course , which is also the host site for the Minnesota state meet . Stillwater has competed in this race a few times , but it typically fell on the same week as the venerable Milaca Mega Meet , which was one of the largest in the country before hosting its final edition in 2021 .

For runners not competing at the Griak , the Ponies will return to River Oaks Golf Course in Cold Spring for the Rocori Invitational on Thursday , Sept . 19 . Stillwater won the event — receiving chocolate chip cookies that are presented to the winners — while competing there for the first time a year ago .

Stillwater has been competing for decades at most of the races on its schedule . Many of those events have been conducted for more than half a century , including the Marshfield Columbus Invitational ( this will be the 49th year ), Faribault Invitational ( 58th ), the Rochester Mayo Invitational ( 60th ), and the Alexandria Meet of Chamions ( 52nd ). The Victoria Lions Invite is the relative newcomer while conducting its 38th event this season .

Stillwater has won 104 state championships , 72 of which are recognized by the Minnesota State High School League . The MSHSL does not sponsor state tourneys for True Team swimming , True Team track and fi eld or synchronized swimming . Those events are conducted by their respective coaches associations . The Ponies have won a total of 11 true team state titles .
