2024 PCS Annual Report: Leading Together | страница 9

A message from Jen Roth

In the division of Patient Care Services at Children’ s Hospital Colorado, cultivating an environment where our team members are supported and enabled to deliver the highest quality care is at the forefront of all we do. We know that pathways for personal and professional growth and shared voice in the decisions that impact their work are vital to supporting our nurses and clinical team members in all roles; and we also know that building a strong clinical team across our system of care is essential to sustaining our mission to improve the health of children.
In my first year as Chief Nursing Executive( CNE), I want to first express my gratitude for the leaders and colleagues who made my own professional journey possible. I came to Children’ s Colorado more than 20 years ago as a new graduate nurse, and I have dedicated my career to Children’ s Colorado because I am passionate about our mission. I am so grateful for my mentors and the pathways they helped create throughout my career, and I want to extend special thanks to Pat Givens, DHA, EdM, RN, NEA-BC, who led Patient Care Services at Children’ s Colorado as CNE until her retirement in summer of 2024. Much of the work celebrated within this report began under her leadership, and we would not be who we are as a division without her humble expertise and commitment to elevating clinical practice.
The theme of our 2024 PCS Annual Report is“ Leading Together.” Throughout my career at Children’ s Colorado, I have seen our values of caring community, humble expertise, generous service and boundless creativity in action, represented in all roles and all areas of our organization. Time and again I have seen our team members come together, giving voice to opportunities to enhance the way we work and putting real solutions into practice. So many of the stories in this report demonstrate exactly that: whether it’ s through professional governance in our organization, advocating in our communities and legislature, or creating innovative solutions to expand access and enhance the quality of care we deliver, our people are leading the way and lifting up our patients, our division and our professions. This is what“ leading together” means to me— by working directly together, we can overcome every challenge, share in writing our path forward as healthcare professionals, and bring hope and healing to every child and family who trusts us for care.
Across Children’ s Colorado, our team members come together each day and night to do some of the most difficult, rewarding, impactful work imaginable. As CNE, I am committed to supporting our division by building systems and structures that will help our team members do their work more effectively and enable them to achieve their full potential at Children’ s Colorado. Through collaboration and unwavering focus on our shared purpose, we can continue to build our culture of excellence and establish Children’ s Colorado as the best place to work and to receive care.
My vision for Patient Care Services at Children’ s Colorado is to be the care destination for children and families, and the career destination for healthcare professionals. I truly believe there is no better place to be if you want to improve child health, and I am grateful and excited for the opportunity to serve as CNE for this division as we continue enhancing our shared professional practice and improving outcomes for kids and families – leading together to transform the future of child health.
