The hospital offers advanced cardiovascular services to help patients with heart and vascular conditions . The Advanced Cardiovascular Centers ’ nurse navigator serves as a hospital concierge to direct patients to the proper care , schedule appointments and answer any questions .
Physicians on the hospital ’ s medical staff work with advanced practice providers and registered nurses to provide comprehensive care for each patient , including diagnostic tests , medication management and lifestyle counseling .

Cardiovascular Second Opinions
The Cardiovascular Second Opinions program has supported physicians and patients from Texas , Louisiana and Oklahoma , as well as across the US and internationally for more than two decades . The program is part of a larger initiative by Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital — Dallas to respond to growing cardiovascular health needs and the increase in patients choosing to become active in their treatment plan and options for care .

The clinicians involved are committed to help the patient through his or her journey from the time of diagnosis through procedure or surgery to post discharge care . The team collaborates with the patient ’ s personal physician to foster seamless , continuous communication and follow-up care .

Patients who are seeking a second opinion may wish to explore treatment options or technology that may not be readily available in their immediate area . In addition , as a part of Baylor Scott & White Health , through Baylor Scott & White Research Institute , patients may have options via clinical trials occurring on the Dallas campus .

Cardio-Genetics
The hospital collaborates with InformedDNA to provide expert genetic counseling services to you and your patients . Board certified genetic counselors offer convenient , telephone-based genetic counseling and follow national guidelines to determine if the patient is a candidate . If appropriate , they work with providers and help facilitate genetic testing and report results back to the patient and provider .
Lipid Metabolism Center
Newly established on the Dallas campus , the Lipid Metabolism Center is one of only a handful of North Texas facilities performing lipoprotein apheresis . The technology removes lipoproteins from a patient ’ s blood and returns the cleansed blood to the patient ’ s body to lower lipid levels . The first patient was treated at the center in May 2024 .
Patients may be candidates for lipoprotein apheresis if they have :
• Elevated lipid levels uncontrolled by medication
• Familial hyperlipidemia
