Park projects enhance offerings
With a name like Lakeville , it ’ s no surprise that the city has many outdoor parks , facilities and several lakes so people can enjoy an abundance of water and scenic beauty .
The city has more than 1,700 acres of public park and open space , including over 77 neighborhood and community parks featuring playgrounds , open air shelters , biking and walking trails , hockey rinks and athletic complexes . The city also features 19 conservation areas , seven greenways and over 125 miles of multipurpose trails .
Among the jewels of Lakeville ’ s park system is Ritter Farm , a sprawling 340-acre community park located at 19300 Ritter Trail . With hiking and cross-country ski trails , the park also has lake access to fishing , picnic areas , an archery range , a five-acre dog park , and the Mako Environmental Learning Center .
Antlers Park is another of the city ’ s most popular parks . Located along the shores of Lake Marion at 9740 201st St . W ., The park was reconstructed in 2023 , and opened in 2024 with a new main pavilion , concession building , redeveloped swimming beach , volleyball , playground , and picnic shelters . It offers shoreline fishing and trail connections .
Avid off-road bike riders can enjoy the West Lake Marion Mountain Bike Trail adjacent to Casperson Park , which offers close to five miles of mountain bike trails for beginner , intermediate and advanced riders .
Lakeville has several athletic facilities , featuring softball , baseball and soccer fields , along with picnic shelters , trails
and playgrounds , highlighted by Aronson Park , which teams with Quigley-Sime Park , located at 8250 202nd St . W . Aronson Park is also the home to Lakeville ’ s Veterans Memorial . Steve Michaud Park at 17100 Ipava Ave . features the Land of Amazement 2.0 playground .
Miracle Field Park , 18350 Dodd Blvd ., is a part of King Park . It provides opportunities for children ages 3-19 with disabilities to play baseball among other activities . There is also adaptive playground equipment and adaptive mini golf at King Park .
