CHECK OUT THE CAMBRIDGE LIBRARY
The Cambridge Public Library is part of the East Central Regional Library system and allows people to read , watch , listen , play , learn , and gather for free . The Cambridge library gets approximately 100,000 visits each year , as a popular community gathering space . Everyone is welcome at the library !
Patrons can check out print and eBooks , eAudiobooks , eMagazines , WiFi hotspots , music CDs , back issues of print magazines , DVDs , books on CD , and board games .
There are also an abundance of kits available that include items like puzzles , STEM activities , storytime activities , fitness equipment , outdoor games , and more .
The library features 10 public computers , a printer with copying , scanning , printing , and scan to email capabilities , 6 study rooms , a microfilm reader , a dedicated teen space , and a play room in the
children ’ s area for community members to utilize . There are also two large meeting rooms that can be rented .
Patrons of all ages can also enjoy free programs and activities at the library . Some annual highlights include storytime for children , a Summer Discovery Program for kids , teens , and adults , and a winter reading challenge for teens and adults . The all-volunteer non-profit organization , Friends of the Cambridge Library , supports the local facility by focusing public attention on its needs and raising funds to operate programs and provide library furnishings . The Friends welcome new members interested in advocating for the local library .
Residents can get a free library card by showing one form of photo identification and proof of their current address . Library patrons must have a card to borrow items , but anyone can utilize materials , book a study room , or use a public computer while in the library , even without a library card .
