New Leadership at Reagan National Airport
In 2024, the Airports Authority appointed Terrence“ Terry” Liercke as vice president and airport manager of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, following the retirement of longtime leader Paul Malandrino.
Liercke brings more than 25 years of experience at Reagan National and Dulles International. A Marine Corps veteran with a degree in aviation management from George Mason University, he has held roles in operations, construction and emergency response. He supported Reagan National’ s response following the September 11 attack on the Pentagon and played a key role in Operation Allies Welcome in 2021. Most recently, he served as Airport Operations Manager at Dulles.
His predecessor, Paul Malandrino, retired after 58 years in aviation and public service, including 17 years leading Reagan National. A retired Air Force pilot, Malandrino previously led airport operations at Dulles and served as federal security director with TSA at BWI airport. As vice president and airport manager, he oversaw Reagan National’ s largest capital program in decades, Project Journey, which delivered new gates and expanded security checkpoints. He also led the airport through the COVID pandemic, ensuring safety while keeping concessions operating.
