Creating Connections for Customers
We are proud of our achievements in delivering exceptional service and strengthening our competitive position. These accomplishments include earning higher service rankings compared with peer airports, attracting new airlines that offer direct routes to key destinations, anticipating and responding to evolving consumer travel trends and enhancing our overall reputation with passengers.
Accessibility is also essential to air travel. Reagan National Airport and Dulles International airports offer a range of accessible services to assist customers during their journey. For example, in 2023, we started our partnership with the Hidden Disabilities Sunfl ower organization. to introduce the Sunfl ower Lanyard program, which discreetly identifi es travelers with hidden disabilities to airport employees, especially those in customer service roles. In 2024, over 2,170 Sunfl ower lanyards were distributed to passengers and the general airport community.
More than 200 local kids and their families took part in these events at our airports. Participants embarked on an enlightening step-by-step journey through the entire air travel process, starting with fl ight check-in and proceeding through navigating a Transportation Security Administration security checkpoint, locating the gate, boarding the aircraft, settling into their seats and acquainting themselves with crucial in-fl ight safety procedures.
The support of airport staff, TSA offi cials and airline representatives ensured a seamless and supportive experience for the participants and their families. This Wings for All event is a combined partnership between the Arc of Northern Virginia, the Arc of Loudoun, the Airports Authority, the Transportation Security Administration and United Airlines.
Additionally, the Airports Authority regularly hosts Wings For All, a program designed to empower people with autism and other intellectual disabilities by familiarizing them with air travel.
