As a long-time volunteer , he is a member of the national Board of Directors , chairs the Governance and Nominating Committee , and provides governance and transactional pro bono legal assistance . In addition , Blank Rome attorneys provide legal support across multiple disciplines , including government contracts , insurance coverage , and real estate . Notable contributions include the revision and negotiation of the Rebuilding Together ® Affiliation Agreement for use by more than 125 affiliates across the country , and development of a government funding compliance program .
Blank Rome Team Helps Open LA Housing Project for Adults with Disabilities
The Village is a new and unique housing project in Los Angeles developed by pro bono client Cornerstone Housing for Adults with Disabilities . The project provides housing for adults with special needs in addition to on-site vocational training , work opportunities , and social engagement for the residents . The Village will be operated and managed by ETTA , another pro bono client of the firm . Adults with developmental disabilities are one of the most underserved communities in the United States .
A Blank Rome team made up of Los Angeles attorneys Saul Breskal and Jamie Garelick , as well as Washington , D . C ., attorneys Cynthia L . Paine and Michael I . Sanders , represented Cornerstone Housing in closing its $ 35 million construction loan , a tax-exempt bond financing that provides borrowers with very favorable financial terms but adds significant complexity . Both Cynthia and Michael have extensive experience representing nonprofits on such transactions .
