themselves and care for the sick . During the summer of 2023 , when I was on a break from baseball , I was accepted into the St . Bernards Jr . Volunteer Program where I spent 80 hours shadowing surgeons in the operating room . With that opportunity I have made so many connections , and I could not be more grateful . I also hold 250 volunteer hours at St . Bernards as I am a patient ambassador in the ICU . After high school , I plan to attend ASU to obtain my bachelor ’ s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science . I plan to further my education and attend Physician Assistant school to obtain my doctorate and become a Plastic Surgery PA-C .”
Outside of sports , Kersey likes to stay active . “ Aside from baseball , you can find me either hiking in the middle of nowhere with my friends to a waterfall , in my bedroom working on my college classes or at the hospital job shadowing !” he listed . “ I love being outdoors ! I cannot stay in my house for a long period of time , because I have always been on the go . I also love to travel , it ’ s something that I am always looking forward to do .”
Winning aside , Kersey hopes to make the most of his senior season . “ Starting in junior high , I knew that one day this journey would soon be over ,” he shared . “ Unfortunately , it came quicker than I had intended , but I will forever be grateful and it ’ s a debt I ’ ll never be able to repay . I want the city of Walnut Ridge to remember me as the person I am today . More than majority of the population of this small town knows me for my bubbly , ambitious , and outgoing personality . I don ’ t want to be remembered as a good athlete , although it is nice , I feel like being remembered for being good at athletics is something I don ’ t yearn for . I just want to be remembered for being a good person , that is what truly matters .”
Bo Kersey has proven that he is a key factor for one of the state ’ s best baseball programs . His experience , work ethic , and drive have allowed him to be successful in his role for the Walnut Ridge Bobcats . These same characteristics are also why he is accomplishing great things off the field and setting him up for a bright future .
