HB 2454 hazardous substances

This bill extends a tax exemption for pesticides and other crop protection products that are warehoused in Washington but sold out of state until Jan . 1 , 2026 . The legislation will ensure Washington remains the most competitive location for pesticide storage in the Pacific Northwest . AWB has several members who have used these preferences to expand existing operations . Both chambers passed HB 2454 with bipartisan approval .
HB 2199 b & o tax exemption for cca credits

The Legislature passed this bill with significant support in both the House and Senate . It provides a B & O tax exemption for transactions involving allowances , offset credits or price ceiling units through the Climate Commitment Act . AWB worked with stakeholders and the Department of Revenue on this bill as part of a series of fixes to the CCA . This bill will help fix an administrative burden and create taxpayer transparency and fairness for businesses .
SB 6303 tax incentive for energy storage systems manufacturing

Under this proposal , Washington would create a preferential B & O tax rate to encourage energy storage system and component parts manufacturing . As the state moves forward with its clean energy strategy , it is crucial we have battery storage and other storage systems . Unfortunately , the bill did not come up for a vote this year .
HB 2094 and SB 5987 cashing out gift card balances
Failed / AWB Opposed sponsors : Rep . Emily Alvarado , D-Seattle , and Sen . Yasmin Trudeau , D-Tacoma
State law currently allows consumers to redeem unspent gift card balances for cash if the remaining value is less than $ 5 . This bill would raise the threshold to $ 50 . There was broad opposition to the proposal , which would essentially force businesses to carry more cash on hand and potentially attract theft . Many AWB members contacted their legislators
