Monday , October 14 th

The Convention officially kicked off with the Alaska CHARR Board of Directors gathering for a 10:00 AM meeting at American Legion Post # 17 while CHARR Members arrived and checked into the Best Western Kodiak , Shelikof Lodge , and Compass Suites for a fun-filled week in the Kodiak !
The evening ’ s festivities began with a warm welcome by Patty Almeter and staff from Tony ’ s Bar as everyone gathered for the Ice Breaker / PAC Fundraiser hosted by The Odom Corporation and Southern Glazers Wine & Spirits . Kodiak Representative Louise Stutes greeted everyone with a warm welcome and thanks for CHARR ' s hard work and the economic impact of the hospitality industry for the State of Alaska . Before closing remarks , he commented on looking forward to working with CHARR during the upcoming legislative session . After a couple of hours of “ networking ,” everyone made their way to downtown Kodiak for the “ Pub Crawl ,” where they mingled with locals and enjoyed a few more libations before heading back to their hotel for a good night ’ s sleep .

Tuesday October 15 th

The morning started with an amazing breakfast provided by the American Legion Post # 17 before heading over to The Kodiak Marketplace for the Opening Ceremony and Voice of the Membership meeting . President / CEO Sarah Oates and Board Chairman Paul Thomas started by thanking this year ’ s Diamond Sponsors , Kodiak CHARR and Whaler Casino Supply / Arrow International , for sponsoring Drop Your Anchor in Kodiak and introduced and thanked the CHARR staff for their hard work and dedication .
Our first speaker , Ninia Linero , who the Alaska Beer Wine & Spirits Wholesalers Association sponsored , then gave an informative National Restaurant Association update . We then went into a working lunch with a Ballot measure 1 update with Sarah Oates , Presi-
