Export
The export shipments of Australian almonds in 2024-25 were 143,512 tonnes( kwe) comprising of 79,696 tonnes of inshell and 87,725 tonnes of kernel and value added. This result is 35 % higher than the previous year export sales of 106,599 tonnes. The key export markets for the Australian almond industry were; China with 76,121 tonnes which was up 128 % on the previous year; India with 19,803 tonnes up 35 % on the previous year followed by Türkiye with 12,410 tonnes which was 12 % higher than last year. The Middle East, which has traditionally been a Californian stronghold, has once again grown by 15 % to reach 17,114 tonnes after an increase of 33 % the year before. Whilst SE Asia overall dropped by 8 % to 13,032 tonnes, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand have presented themselves as key target markets for Australian almonds, with growth last year of 98 %, 180 % and 83 % respectively. Once again, the total amount sold for the season( 169,541 tonnes) exceeded the actual crop intake( 163,148 tonnes).
