Preschool is an exciting time for young learners . Mahtomedi Area Preschool ( MAP ) helps prepare students for the world of kindergarten . MAP takes 3-5-year-olds through daily activities to strengthen social-emotional , physical , and cognitive development . The curriculum features exploration and discovery as a way of learning . Math , language , and literacy skills are sharpened in MAP , as is self-regulation . Along the way children further develop confidence , creativity , and lifelong critical thinking abilities .

Mahtomedi ’ s Four Star Parent Aware rated preschool provides a safe learning environment building on what children have learned from their parents as their first teachers .
* A 4-Star Parent Aware rated program meets the highest level criteria when preparing children for kindergarten . As determined by the Minnesota Department of Human Services in coordination with the Office of Early Learning .
2023-24 Preschool Registration Information
Registrations MUST include the following items or your enrollment will not be accepted : → A non-refundable $ 65 registration fee → Current Immunization Documentation ( required every year ) → For students entering preschool who will be 4 on or before September 1 , 2023 : a completed Early Childhood Screening or an appointment needs to be made . Screenings must be completed before the beginning of preschool . ( Once you register , you will receive a link to available Screening appointments for incoming 4 year old preschool students who have not had a screening yet . Appointments available in June and August .)
