Conscious Discipline Family Night
You are invited to be a part of our school family . Every family night is different , so don ’ t miss ! Conscious Discipline is evidence based behavior management and socio-emotional strategies which assist any caregiver in creating every situation into a learning experience . Join us for a family friendly event including dinner , activities , and make and takes ! * 5:00-5:30 - Light Dinner is available for families . Dinner is not required for this event . If you are not attending dinner , please indicate that on your registration . * 5:40-7:00 - Visit various stations with your family . These stations will have a small discussion for the family AND the child ( ren ) together as well as an activity or a make-ntake . The purpose of this is to promote key components of Conscious Discipline WITH an immediate family take-away . Registration required for dinner and evening . Please register one name per family , but indicate on the questionnaire how many adults / children will be attending . We will be dividing based on ages . Generational-or-Grandparent Conversations
Grandparents play a big role in children ’ s lives . Dad and Me Playdates ( 18 months-5 years )
Dads or special guys and their little buddies are invited to spend some time connecting with each other . Spend time playing , creating art projects , and exploring the classroom . A teacher will be there to lead a large group activity and to facilitate quality engagement . Empower Me ( for parents , caregivers of young children )
Ever wonder how to talk with young children about stranger awareness ? Boost your knowledge with this short overview ( for families , caregivers , or professionals ) which provides tools and vocabulary to talk with young children about touches , body safety , stranger awareness , and body terminology . The Mahtomedi Early Childhood Parent Advisory Council assists in advising us in the development and planning of the programming we offer through Early Childhood . The Parent Advisory Council consists of caregivers currently participating in the program , local community members , and agency representatives who can offer input and guidance on community needs . What does the Parent Advisory Council do ?
• Recommend activities , classes , and service for families with young children
• Be a springboard for family involvement in the district
• Sponsor family activities such as : Open Gym , Field Trips , Vehicle Fair , and more !
• Raise funds to support program activities
Why should I join the Parent Advisory Council ?
• Parent involvement is key to a child ’ s educational success
• Expand your network of families with young children
• Be involved in decisions about the early childhood program
• Learn about the district
What else do I need to know about the Parent Advisory Council ?
• Free childcare is available for those who sign up .
• You can attend an occasional meeting or every month .
• If a parent / caregiver attends two PAC 4:00-5:00 PM
• meetings a year and volunteers to help at one sponsored event they will receive one of the following :
* FREE registration for the following school year ’ s preschool
* $ 50 off your ECFE tuition for the current school year
* One free Early Childhood enrichment one-time class
