Before School Chess Club - OHA ( grades 3-5 )
Whether you consider yourself a beginner or intermediate player , join this club to meet and interact with other chess players in your school on a weekly basis . New players will learn the basic rules and strategies of chess . Tournament play is encouraged beyond the club , but not required . Online Competition Chess Club ( grades 1-12 )
This program is for players of all grades and ages interested in participating and competing in tournament chess , or just want their chess ability to improve to the next tactical level . Players will meet Saturday morning online for chess instruction and fun competitive play . Face to face , sanctioned tournament play is strongly encouraged as well . In person tournaments will be suggested but families will need to register for those independent of this program . Expert coaching and supervision will be provided for participants at SCA tournaments . Perfect for students that want challenges in addition to their school clubs . Lessons can last up to 30 minutes , so improving your skills is the primary goal of this group . An email with links and login information will be sent prior to the first meeting .
