1 . Participants in the Junior Livestock Auction are asked to promote their product and invite buyers to the auction . 2 . All entrants who want to sell in the Junior Livestock Auction must enter and exhibit in the Junior Open Show with the exception of 4-H and FFA Meat Rabbit pens .
3 . The auction will be a “ premium ” auction meaning that in most cases the buyer will pay the difference between their bid and the announced current market price . The Junior Exhibitor will then retain ownership , unless the buyer actually wants possession . If you indicate on the entry form your intent to sell at the auction , further explanation and an example will be with your entries and also explained prior to the start of the auction .
4 . There will be a 1 ½ percent ( 1.5 %) commission or $ 3.00 / lot minimum charge to cover the Auction Committee cost for advertising and promotion .
5 . The auction weight will be the weight from the Junior Open Show . You will designate the auction animal when you weigh for the Junior Open Show . Sale animals will be tagged at this time .
6 . To be eligible for the auction , animals must meet these weight ranges : Swine - 220-290 lbs .; Beef - a minimum of 900 lbs .
7 . Dairy Rule : ALL Dairy exhibitors are eligible to sell as long as he / she meets the rules listed , specifically Rule # 2 and Rule # 16 . You DO NOT need to be a Grand or Reserve Grand Champion . Dairy exhibitors that are selling at the auction are required to provide their own dairy products basket for the auction . 8 . Each exhibitor will be limited to selling one ( 1 ) lot . 9 . Checks will be mailed to the seller upon the receipt of payment by the buyer . 10 . Rabbits , poultry , and wether goats to be sold must remain on the Fairgrounds and be identified in their respective areas on Wednesday afternoon . Processing of rabbits and poultry is the responsibility of the seller . 11 . All sales and decisions of the auction committee are final . 12 . ORDER OF AUCTION - All Stephenson County 4-H Livestock will sell first in auction . All Section-1 FFA
Livestock will sell second in auction . All remaining Stephenson County livestock will sell third . 13 . No animal is to be sold in this auction that was sold in another sale with show rights reserved . 14 . NO AUCTION TAGS ARE TO BE REMOVED FROM THE LIVESTOCK ! 15 . The Stephenson County Fair Association is not responsible for accidents . 16 . No out-of-county livestock will be sold unless seller is a member of a Stephenson County 4-H club or a Section-1 FFA Chapter and the exhibitor has not sold and will not be selling any animal at any other county fair this year .
17 . Livestock sold at the Junior Livestock Auction may be released after the sale , only if requested by the buyer .
