MESSAGE FROM THE LEADERSHIP
E ach and every year , the animalrights movement pummels state legislatures with bills that advance their ideological beliefs while destroying our rich , and successful , heritage of wildlife management . As you ’ ll see in this report , in 2023 our team engaged in the most important policy issues effecting sportsmen and women nationwide . While the Sportsmen ’ s Alliance and Sportsmen ’ s Alliance Foundation are two separate organizations , we work as a united front to provide a complete defense of hunting and our way of life .
Last year , our government affairs team monitored more than 1,000 bills nationwide and sent hundreds of action alerts throughout all 50 states . No state was safe from the rhetoric or attacks – even Texas faced gun control efforts of an unprecedented nature and saw new laws passed that would impact sporting dog hunters .
Those opposed to our way of life often shift their approach in an effort to utilize new tactics to achieve their goals . Today , these multimillion-dollar organizations are leveraging a friendly administration in the White House to advance their management policies on federal lands while simultaneously circumventing the politics of the masses by pushing for regulatory changes at the state game commission level . If left unchecked , these efforts set dangerous a precedent .
The Sportsmen ’ s Alliance has blocked the path of these well-orchestrated attacks at game commission meetings , in state capitols and at the federal level . Our new advocacy software has allowed the public to quickly and easily push back on adverse legislation , while our legal teams have been able to interject the sportsman ’ s voice to protect our interests .
In today ’ s partisan world , we have been forced to turn more often to the courts for justice – it ’ s a tactic we see growing in the coming years . The ability to quickly and efficiently react to these attacks , and even prevent them in some cases , is wholly due to your support and belief in the Sportsmen ’ s Alliance and our Foundation . Our mission , and our ability to protect your passions and those of millions of sportsmen nationwide , are only made possible through your generous support . It ’ s something every one of us in the organizations take seriously and something we ’ re all dedicated to now and in the future .
Thank you for your continued support of the Sportsmen ’ s Alliance , sciencebased wildlife management and the North American model .
