The DISI team delivered the results of the comprehensive employee engagement study to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority leadership . The findings not only illuminated critical areas for improvement but also underscored the importance of fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture . As a direct outcome of this study , The Airports Authority has embarked on the development of a sustainable strategic plan that prioritizes employee well-being and inclusivity . This visionary plan encompasses the implementation of psychological safety training , fostering an environment where employees feel safe to express themselves and take calculated risks , and a comprehensive diversity education series , aimed at nurturing a workplace that values and celebrates diversity in all its forms . These initiatives represent a significant leap forward in the Airports Authority ’ s commitment to creating an empowered and harmonious workforce .
Access to Capital
On July 27 , 2023 , the Diversity Outreach team orchestrated an Access to Capital panel event , serving as a vital bridge between the local small business community and the banking industry . Small business participants gained invaluable opportunities to engage directly with both local and national banking institutions , facilitating a comprehensive understanding of the essential procedures required to secure funding for their growth initiatives . Furthermore , this event provided a unique platform for small businesses to establish crucial connections by engaging in networking opportunities with representatives from esteemed entities such as the DC Small Business Development Center ( SBDC ) and the Department of Small and Local Business Development ( DSLBD ).
Airport Car Supplier Rental Car Supplier Diversity Outreach Day
Local area small businesses had an opportunity to learn about contracting opportunities with rental car companies at the Airports . During this event , they gained direct insights into the certification procedure and engaged in discussions with key figures from both the airport and rental car sectors . These discussions encompassed existing business relationships and the array of contracting prospects accessible to small businesses .
