Baylor Scott & White Advanced Heart Failure Clinic , located on the campus of Baylor University Medical Center , offers comprehensive services for patients with refractory symptoms . Advanced heart failure cardiologists and transplant surgeons on the medical staff at Baylor University Medical Center provide an array of services , including the medical management of progressive symptoms , medication optimization , mechanical circulatory support device evaluation and placement , access to clinical trials , and heart transplantation .
Members of the hospital transplantation team evaluate patients by traveling to outreach clinics in Abilene , Amarillo , Longview , Lubbock , Midland- Odessa , and Shreveport , LA .
Participation in national organizations
Members of the Baylor Dallas advanced heart failure team work with the American College of Cardiology and other heart failure-related organizations to serve as section leaders and contributors to advance the future of heart failure medicine .

Heart failure research
Physicians on the medical staff participate in various heart failure trials and publications throughout the year that pave the way for the future of medicine . One example is the FDA-approved total artificial heart , which Baylor University Medical Center is the only site in the area to offer this device after years of participating in the clinical trial .
In fiscal year 2023 , the advanced heart failure team participated in 41 active trials and 50 peer-reviewed publications . The Advanced Heart Failure team at Baylor Dallas was also a top ten enroller in eight studies , received two grants and had 15 podium presentations .
