Regionalized STEMI program
Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital - Dallas , together with Baylor University Medical Center , collaborate with area free-standing emergency departments , urgent care centers and community hospitals to provide quick treatment for patients who experience a STEMI — segment elevation myocardial infarction . Air transfers occur from surrounding areas . Door-to-balloon time for STEMI patients is a key measurement for any STEMI patient transported to the emergency department .
Gold-Plus and Gold recognition
Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Dallas received multiple American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines and Mission : Lifeline achievement awards for demonstrating commitment to following up-to-date researchbased guidelines for the treatment of heart disease and stroke , ultimately leading to more lives saved , shorter recovery times and fewer readmissions to the hospital . The recognitions included receiving the Mission : Lifeline ® STEMI Receiving Center Gold- Plus recognition for its commitment to offering rapid , research-based care to people experiencing a specific type of heart attack known as an ST elevation myocardial infarction ( STEMI ).
The hospital also received Mission : Lifeline ® NSTEMI Gold Award . This achievement is based upon participation in Get With The Guidelines ® -CAD and meeting the required Mission : Lifeline ® recognition criteria for data submitted through the 2022 calendar year . The Gold Award is given to organizations for their commitment to offering rapid , research-based care to people experiencing a specific type of heart attack known as a non-ST elevation myocardial infarction ( NSTEMI ) and is earned by hospitals that demonstrate a commitment to treating patients according to the most up-to-date research-based guidelines for NSTEMI care as outlined by the American Heart Association .

The 2023 Cardiovascular Innovations Conference co-directed by Dr . Subhash Banerjee featured more than ten Baylor Scott & White Health cardiovascular representatives as faculty and presenters . Positioned as an “ operators ’ enclave ,” the conference format features eight-minute lectures that focus on specific procedural skills and technical challenges to make these procedures more successful and safer for patients .
