Something that Justin has had the opportunity to do is play basketball his entire career for his dad . Brad
Brannen is a legendary coach at Bay . He ’ s a four-time state champion . Justin appreciates the fact that he ’ s been given the opportunity to play for not only his dad but someone that is so respected in the coaching community . “ I ’ m very proud , it would be hard to not be . I definitely think it has helped me , from when I was little . I was at every game , getting to grow up with older kids and really good players has definitely helped my game .” As a youngster , Justin would sit on the bench with his dad during the ballgames . He was a part of the team back in Brad ’ s earlier years at Bay . He rode the bus and would even go back into the locker room before , during and after the game . He was always taking things in and most importantly getting the opportunity to be around a winning culture and winning players . “ Those years will be the years I remember forever . Some of my favorite memories would just be spending time with the teams and winning all the big games that they won . There were a ton of players I looked up to as a kid , and some of my favorites were definitely , Taylor Lane , Tyler Pritchett , and Colton Watson .”
While playing for Brad has given Justin certain perks it also comes with some challenges . The key is finding a balance between life and basketball . “ It ’ s definitely difficult , but we ’ ve found a fine line between the two . He treats me the same on the court and tries not to carry coaching over once we get off of it . It ’ s definitely something that I will always be thankful for . There ’ s a bunch of things we do . We go hunting , fishing , and a lot more . Both of our lives have always revolved around basketball , so it feels good to spend time on other things .”
