ANTHONY DAY ’ S FIRST DAY IN OFFICE

r . Anthony Day officially began his tenure in July 2023 , shortly after the 2022 – 2023 fiscal year closed . He is very much looking forward to meeting members of the Prep community , donors , and friends at the President ’ s Club Dinner , the 100th Turkey Bowl , and the Rams Union Event , among others , in the coming weeks and months .
He began the morning by sharing breakfast with colleagues on the administrative staff . The assortment of bagels and spreads were a gift from the Business Office .
As a leader committed to the Catholic Jesuit mission and identity of Fordham Prep , I look forward to hearing more about what excites and motivates our benefactors to support our school , students , faculty , and staff as well as to express my gratitude for their generosity ,” stated Day . “ I ’ m also excited to celebrate the 100th Turkey Bowl , a monumental rivalry that elevates and puts a spotlight on two storied Jesuit high schools . There ’ s a real sense of pride in having an annual competition that focuses on the importance of integrity , sportsmanship and brotherhood ,” he beamed .
He visited with rising 8th graders and current Prep student staff during the Higher Achievement Program ( HAP ) lunch period , in the Moglia Commons .
Mr . Day ’ s former student , Jeff Butkowski ’ 99 , Director of Technical Operations , helped him set up his computer .
The day concluded in the Principal ’ s Office as Mr . Day sat down with Prep principal Dr . Joseph Petriello ’ 98 for their first official meeting of the new school year .
