2023 La Crosse Loggers Baseball There ’ s No Place Like Copeland
Victor Burgos Hitting Coach
Victor Burgos is in the midst of his first season with the Lumbermen , serving as their hitting coach but he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from the professional ranks . The Grand Prairie , Texas resident spent the 2022 season working as the hitting coach for the St . Lucie Mets ( FL ), the Class A affiliate of the New York Mets . While there he worked with many of the Mets top prospects and guided an offense the led the Florida State League in home runs , RBI ’ s and slugging percentage en route to aiding the St . Lucie team to a FSL title . Prior to his time with the Mets , Burgos was the lead instructor at D-Bat Training Academy in Texas during 2020-2021 . In 2019 , Burgos served as the hitting coach for the Gary South Shore Rail Cats of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball . Burgos also played professionally from 2007-2011 . He and his wife call Grand Prairie , Texas home with their two children .

Colten Bond
First Base Coach Position Players Coach
Colten Bond is in his first season with the Loggers working as the team ’ s first base coach as well as working with position players and defensive alignments .
Coach Bond grew up in Findlay , Ohio and is a 2014 graduate of Liberty Benton High School . While there , he was a member of both the baseball and football team . After graduating , Bond attended Ashland University , a D2 college in Ashland , Ohio , graduating with a Bachelors degree in Sport ’ s Management . He was a four-year member of the baseball program and part of three regional qualifying teams and a regional-up finish . In 2019 , Bond was a Volunteer Assistant at Ashland for a 48-15 team that made a trip to the D2 World Series in Cary , NC and finished 5th in the country , learning from ABCA HOFer John Schaly . In 2020 , he became the Graduate Assistant at Union ( KY ) College a NAIA school in Barbourville , KY finishing the shortened season with a 15-8 record . Bond graduated with his Master ’ s in Business Administration . Over the years , Bond has worked for the summer organization Triple Crown Royals based out of Columbus , OH starting in 2019 .
