ABOUT US
Mission
Citizens For Radioactive Radon Reduction ( CR3 ) is a 501 c3 nonprofit organization with a purpose to assist , encourage , and prepare advocates in making a difference with awareness , education and action against radioactive radon gas exposure . CR3 strives to effectively educate the public and private sectors about the real danger of living , working , or attending school in environments with elevated levels of radon gas .
Working together to educate neighborhoods and regional locations about the effects of high levels of radon CR3 has grown into a nationwide community-based organization with volunteer staff , state representatives , and members . Over 21,000 people die from radon gas exposure each year . Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer and number one cause of lung cancer among nonsmokers . As a nationwide organization , our goal is to have representatives in all states with a CR3 State Representative as the lead facilitator .
Our Goals :
• Educate people about the dangers of radon
• Encourage people to test their homes , school and workplaces and mitigate where radon levels are above the EPA guideline of 4 PCi / L .
� We educate residents , schools , property owners , physicians and local lawmakers with factual and important information so they may better protect themselves and their communities .
� We participate in educational meetings as guest speakers , conduct events , and publish resources for public benefit .
� We empower residents to get involved in the local community and government process .
� We engage our lawmakers directly at local meetings and hearings to ensure they are educated about radon gas and lung cancer .
