King Abdullah University of Science and Technology ( KAUST ) started with a vision from the former King of Saudi Arabia , His late Majesty King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud — that KAUST be a beacon for peace , hope and reconciliation , and serve the people of the Kingdom and the world . Fourteen years later , that vision lives on and is at the heart of the University ’ s Accelerating Impact strategy .
