Spiritual Care
Healthcare involves attending to the whole person – mind , body and spirit . Attention to spiritual wellness can help improve a patient ’ s overall health and quality of life , and therefore , our Spiritual Care team is an integral part of our healthcare team . Spiritual caregivers , Chaplains and spiritual and religious professionals who volunteer are available to meet with patients and their families . This team of professionals is trained to counsel people of all faiths and can talk with patients about their diagnosis and help them cope with the emotions that accompany illness , treatment and recovery . A Chaplain can also provide counseling on faithrelated issues , support patients and their families during difficult conversations and offer prayer , if desired .
Symptom Management Program
A multidisciplinary team of a Palliative Care Physician , Registered Dietitians , Nurse Navigators , Oncology Social Worker , Financial Resource Advocates , Oncology Specialty Care Physicians , Advanced Practice Nurses and Registered Nurses connect in a weekly review of patients with complex cancer needs . This collaboration has shown to proactively manage side effects before they become problematic and prevent unnecessary Emergency Room visits and inpatient admissions by discussing what support is needed for each of the patients presented . This best practice program has proved to be an extremely helpful way of offering holistic care to our patients .
