The choices are endless
One of South Dakota ' s many nicknames is “ Land of Infinite Variety .” Generally that refers to the state ' s topography and weather , but when it comes to the Black Hills , it also means those two all-important E ' s of vacationing — eats and entertainment .
Just as the Black Hills is incredibly diverse in its geology , the region is also famous for a wide variety of styles of food available . For instance , you don ' t have to travel many miles to find restaurants that are known for their German , Italian or Mexican cuisine . And , if you ' re looking for Asian food , you have a choice between Chinese , Mongolian , Vietnamese and numerous others such as Japanese hibachi style .
And if traditional American foods are more your style , you have a whole range of choices there as well . Whether you ' re looking for fine dining with chef-driven cuisine , prime South Dakota beef steak , pizza , smoked barbecue , sub sandwiches or cheeseburgers and fries topped off with an old fashioned banana split from a drive-in , you ' ll find it somewhere in the Hills .
