Buffalo Roundup
Just like in the Old West , Custer State Park staff , cowboys and cowgirls saddle up to move Custer State Park ’ s 1,500 bison to the buffalo corrals . The Roundup is held the last Friday of September every year . The event is open to public viewing with hundreds of buffalo stampeding over the hilltop and running right past . Preceding roundup day , there are arts festival events and activities in the park for three days . You can even try your hand at a “ buffalo chip flip .”

Bike Rally
The annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and its sister rally , Custer Cruisin ’, bring thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts to the Black Hills for one week toward the end of summer .
All of the towns in the Black Hills are biker-friendly . The Black Hills offers rides and venues not seen at other rallies and bikers fall in love with the area , coming back again and again . But any time is perfect for riding a motorcycle through the Black Hills .
