8 . Who has been the most important person in your life that ’ s helped to make you the person and player that you are today ? The most important people in my life is my parents . My mom holds me accountable in all I do , and I watch how hard she works , and it makes me want to do the best I can to please her . My dad has been the most influential . He has made me into the person I am today and hope to continue to be . My mindset and the way I go about everything is because of how hard he works for our family and his program . Whenever I need advice or am struggling with something , he will shoot me straight . 9 . Your dad plays a pretty prominent role in Northeast Arkansas sports . He ’ s a long-time coach that has had a great deal of success . What is your relationship like with him involving sports ? Do you guys spend much time discussing your own playing career ? My whole life I ’ ve watched him coach and lead . He has made such an impact on hundreds of kids . He is also super humble . He always takes the spotlight off of him and ( puts it ) on others . Every single day we talk about whatever practice , workout , or game I had and he gives me unfiltered advice and tells me how I can be better . Before most games he will shoot me a message with a little motivation . It ’ s nothing long but it gets me going . I also know that he will make me figure it out and not take my side automatically . He always has my coaches and teachers back before mine so I know that it ’ s up to me to fix it . Growing up , he taught me to be the hardest playing guy on the field , gym , whatever it is . Work hard . After games the only thing he ever will tell me is that he is proud of me and loves watching me play . He has never missed a game unless he was coaching his own .
10 . I understand you want to be a coach . Talk about why you ’ d like to pursue a career in coaching ? There are a lot of reasons why I want to coach . A big one is definitely my dad even though he always tells me to do something else ! Watching him do it my whole life has made a huge impact on me . Another reason is that I love to lead and motivate people . I take pride in being a leader , and I love to encourage and get the best out of teammates . I hope and pray that I can make a difference in this world through coaching .
