3A-3 Boys Postseason Basketball The 3A-3 boys ’ race has been a two-team battle for most of the season , and it could very well be familiar foes to decide a conference and district championship . The defending state champion Osceola Seminoles are once again back at the top of the conference and are considered one of the top teams in the state . Coach Bryanth Basemore has the Seminoles rolling late in the season led by seniors Jerry Long , Tony McNeil , and junior Richard High . With them at the top of the conference is a familiar foe . The Manila Lions are once again playing championship basketball down the stretch with Brayden Nunnally and Jaron Burrow leading Coach Lee Wimberly ’ s Lions in most categories . A strong supporting cast that includes Luke Kirk , Costner Smith , and Rex Farmer could provide the balance and depth needed to make a deep run . Both teams have spent most of the season ranked in the top 5 in 3A by several polls , but several other teams in the conference look to make some noise . The Corning Bobcats could be a threat in the district tournament led by high scoring junior Jayce Couch and seniors Eli Mason and Clayton Vanpool . The Bobcats are a dangerous team and look to be in control of a regional berth . Lurking behind are two tradition rich teams in Rivercrest and Gosnell . The Gosnell Pirates already have a victory over Osceola , while the Riverest Colts have been in several games and are no strangers to late season runs . Gosnell is led by Taderian Partee and Floyd Williams , and Koby Turner leads a young group of Colts , who could get some help from one of the state ’ s strongest freshmen classes . Piggott and Harrisburg sit at the bottom of the conference but have shown that they can play and even beat the teams currently ahead of them . Piggott ’ s Sean-Hudson Seagraves is a dynamic player that could spark a late season surge , while defensively Harrisburg could cause some problems led by Michael Deckelman , Grant Henry , and Brylan Honeycutt . Osceola is not as good as they were last season but still cannot be counted out to make a deep run . If Manila can get over the hump and advance to the state tournament they are a highly dangerous team with loads of talent . The wildcard team is Rivercrest . With a loaded freshman class , they are going to pull off some upsets . Don ’ t be surprised to see them make a run !

3A-3 Girls Postseason Basketball Only a couple of games separate the top four teams in the 3A-3 girls ’ conference which should make for some entertaining postseason basketball . Manila , Osceola , Corning , and Piggott have all been within two games of each other for most of the season , and Rivercrest isn ' t too far behind . With five quality teams battling for four regional spots , the district tournament will decide who earns a trip to the 3A-2 Regional Tournament in Mountain View . The Manila Lady Lions are relying on defense and 1,000-point career scorer Madison Hitchcock , fellow seniors Taylor Perkins and Kinley Shelton , and newcomer Jenna LaRose to climb to the top of the league . Coach Chad Larose ’ s bunch won several close games early in conference and have been playing well down the stretch . Amber Clay has the Osceola Lady Seminoles in the hunt for a conference crown . The Lady Noles are using the quickness and athleticism of players like Kayla Newsome and Jaidyn Dandridge to create problems for opposing teams on the defensive end . Defense travels , so expect Osceola to be a tough out in the postseason this year . Whitley Bolen has put up some big numbers for the Corning Lady Bobcats this season . Bolen , fellow senior Katie Hampton , and juniors Kenlie Watson and Presley Martin hope to use some of that postseason experience to make another deep run here at tournament time . Grace Horton at Piggott has had some big nights herself eclipsing the 30 point mark several times . Horton , along with Emma Langley and Alyssa Manor , are hoping to have big nights during the postseason . The NEA Invitational Division 1 Champion Rivercrest Lady Colts are hoping to use that winning experience come tournament time . With players like Zakiyah Brown , Brineka Taylor , and Destiny Burks , the Lady Colts can play with anybody . The Gosnell Lady Pirates and the Harrisburg Lady Hornets are hoping to upset some teams in the district tournament to earn a berth to the regional tournament . Carley Casebier and Addi Williams lead the Lady Hornets , while Gosnell is led by Mya Brittman and Mandy Scissell . Whoever makes it out of this conference will have an opportunity to play in possibly the state ’ s toughest region . NEA Sports isn ’ t sure if the 3A-3 has the talent to bring home a state title out of this conference . In addition , they run into tough opponents in the regionals .
3A-2 Boys Postseason Preview The new look 3A-2 Conference added new teams to the mix this season , which has created a deep and fun conference . Throughout the season , several league games have been decided by a bucket or two , which could mean an exciting postseason is coming . The Newport Greyhounds have found success in the conference after a tough non-conference slate . Coach Ty Fersuson ’ s Hounds are led by seniors Kylan Crite , Jon Moore , and Brenden Curry . Newport has improved as the season progressed , and with their length and athleticism , look to be a factor in the postseason . The Mountain View Yellow Jackets are right there with Newport as they will host the 3A-2 Regional Tournament this year . Melbourne moved up to the 3A classification this year and has kept pace in the conference , looking to earn one of those top four spots . Tuckerman also moved up classifications and seemed poised to make a postseason run . Coach Josh Longino ’ s Bulldogs hope to be playing their best in the postseason . With strong guard play including Waylon Tackett , Amare Neal , and John Metzger , Tuckerman should prove to be a tough out . The Hoxie Mustangs are hoping to make a run in the district tournament . The Mustangs have been in several games that they lost and hope to get over the hump come tournament time . Jake Jones , Cayden Glenn , and Kyle Lenderman hope to lead Hoxie on a late season surge . Salem , Walnut Ridge , and Cave City hope to surprise some people in a district tournament where anything can happen . Walnut Ridge made the finals of Division 1 of the NEA Tournament and hope to look on that tournament experience to make another run . The Bobcat trio of Davis Callahan , Rex Tedder , and Maddox Jean look to have big games to help their team make a run .
