HB 1320 personnel records
Failed / AWB Opposed sponsor : Rep . Julia Reed , D-Seattle
If it passed , this bill would have required employers to provide an employee ’ s complete personnel file within 14 days of a request without allowing for reasonable redactions to protect other employees . This requirement would have been especially burdensome for small business . It also included a private right of action , which AWB opposes . Employers offered solutions that would have addressed the problems in the bill but those were not adopted . AWB thus opposed the bill , which passed the House 56-40 but failed to move out of the Senate .
