Home of the Innocents is a dedicated trauma-informed and values-led organization . Racism is trauma and we recognize many of our team members and those we provide services to show up and live with it every day . The Home is committed to confronting racism so that everyone connected with our mission can thrive and feel supported .
2020 : Home of the Innocents announces a commitment to becoming an antiracist organization and contracted with the Racial Healing Project
2022 : Strategic Planning begins . 47 people analyzed an Internal / External Analysis about race .
2022 : 5 Gap Analysis Groups were formed and 100 people from across the organization participated in meetings from April through June .
2022 : An operational plan was created for each program and support area
2021 : 3 groups of team and Board members attend Racial Healing training then conduct listening tours with over 100 team members regarding race and racism
2021 : Risk Registries were created by the Executive Team and newly formed D & I Committee
2021 : Hired a director to oversee the Department of Culture & Engagement as well as implementation of Racial Healing activities . A Racial Healing Core Team was created and the D & I Committee transitioned to a Racial Healing Change Team dedicated to discussions about race and racism .
